Our copper drinkware is made from more than 98% pure copper. The material purity has been tested by TÜV Rheinland in 2022.

The drinking surface on the inside is left untreated and has no inner coating. The exterior is finished with a protective lacquer designed to help preserve the appearance of the copper and slow down natural tarnishing.

As copper is a natural metal, changes in colour and oxidation may occur over time, particularly on the untreated interior. These changes are characteristic of copper and can usually be removed using the recommended cleaning method. Please refer to the individual product description for specific material information, dimensions and care instructions.

The practice of storing drinking water in copper vessels has a long tradition in India and is known in Ayurveda as Tamra Jal.

We value this tradition as part of the cultural heritage behind our copperware. References to Ayurveda on our website describe traditional practices and should not be understood as medical or health claims.

Our own laboratory testing focuses instead on measurable parameters, such as changes in pH, alkalinity, copper content and microbiological observations under defined test conditions. Always fill your copper vessel with water that is already suitable for drinking. A copper vessel should not be used as a substitute for appropriate water treatment or purification.

For normal use, we recommend storing still drinking water in your copper vessel for approximately 8–12 hours, for example overnight.

This recommendation reflects the intended use of our products and the storage periods considered in our testing. It is not necessary to store the water for longer periods.

We recommend replacing the water regularly and not leaving the same water in the vessel for extended periods. Longer storage may affect the taste and may increase the amount of copper transferred into the water.

If the water develops an unusually strong metallic taste, empty the vessel, clean it thoroughly and refill it with fresh drinking water.

Material & Making

Our bottles and glasses are crafted from over 98% pure copper. Each piece is expertly shaped from a single sheet of copper to create a seamless, joint-free body. The interior remains completely untreated and free from coatings, allowing the water to come into direct contact with the natural copper surface. The exterior is finished with a protective lacquer that helps preserve the appearance of the copper and makes everyday care easier, while a silicone sealing ring ensures a secure closure.

The copper used in our products has been independently tested by TÜV Rheinland. Material composition testing conducted in 2022 on the submitted sample confirmed a copper content of 99.05%.

Every piece is handcrafted in India by skilled artisans using traditional copperworking techniques passed down through generations. This handcrafted process gives each product its own individual character—no two pieces are exactly alike. Small variations in hammering, engraving, shape or surface finish are a natural part of the craftsmanship and reflect the authenticity of each piece.

Our copperware is produced largely by hand, with a focus on traditional craftsmanship, durable materials and products designed for long-term use. Copper scraps and unused copper generated during production are carefully collected and sent for recycling, helping us use this valuable material responsibly and reduce production waste.
